Hola Mohalla is one of the most important festivals of the Sikh community, usually celebrated one day after the Holi, spring festival of the Hindu community.

The celebration date falls in the month of March which is decided according to the lunar calendar.

This festival is celebrated in full glory at the Anandpur Sahib as a three-day event, although enthusiasts camp for a week too.

There is a display of bravery, fighting skills, mock battles, dance, music, and poetry contests as well.

Meals are served at Gurudwara Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib in Pangats (Queues) as a tradition of the Sikh community where vegetarian food of the Langars is served. This is a part of community service (Sewa) which is offered by setting up voluntary community kitchens called the Langars.

This event concludes near Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib with a military-style parade by the Nihang members of the Khalsa Army.
