  • Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated for 11 days wherein the idol of Lord Ganesha is set up at a “Pandal” by devotees. Some people also prefer to worship privately at home.
  • This festival is celebrated by the devotees to signify their belief of Goddess Parvati's descent to earth with her son to shower blessings upon her worshipers
  • It is the festival wherein the Pandits (Practising Priest)  offer sweets like Modaks (steamed sweet Momo's) after worshipping the Ganesh Idols. The worshippers offer flower garlands and coconuts as a sign of respect and admiration to the deity
  • The first day is Shree Ganesh Chaturthi.  The Following days are   Krishna Panchami, Chhath Puja (Surya Shashti), Gauri Pujan (Jyeshtha Gauri), Durga Puja, Immersion of Gauri Idol, Parlatini Ekadashi, and Anand Chathurti (immersion of Ganesh Idol).

  • Wide Angle Fisheye Lens
  • Zoom Lens
  • Portrait Lens

Safety –

  • The travellers are usually asked to not wear or carry any expensive items before heading for darshan as it is a crowded place during the festival.
  • Wear comfortable clothes of good quality because the worshipers end up pushing each other due to lack of space. The delicate designer clothes are expected to avoid. Sometimes, the bags are not allowed in some pandals, so wear something with front pockets to keep your money and cellphone.

Safety –

  • A friendly crowd.
  • Ask a few people about how much their entry tickets cost because some people overprice if you reside in a foreign country.
  • A one-litre water bottle is a must as you might get dehydrated by the time you worship the idol.
