Dev Deepawali, “the Diwali of the Gods” or “Festival of Lights of the Gods”, is the festival that is observed on the day of Kartik Purnima in November or December, in the holy city of Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India.
The festival is celebrated fifteen days after Diwali, the festival of lights, with great pomp and show, to mark Lord Shiva’s victory over Tripurasur.
Varanasi, the city well known for its Ghats are marvelously dazzled up by earthen lamps, which leaves us an enticing view to bask our eyes on.
